German expressionist inspired bear

This piece began as a relief carving, inspired by the woodcut prints at MoMa's exhibit German Expressionism: The Graphic Impulse. The woodcut - done on a piece of pine - was a bit of a failure so I transformed it into a relief painting using acrylic paint and India ink.
